Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) — An Overview

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a five-year undergraduate degree programme in dental medicine, comprising four years of academic and clinical study followed by a mandatory one-year rotational internship. It is the primary qualification required to practise dentistry in India.
At BGS GIDS, the BDS programme is designed to produce graduates who are scientifically grounded, clinically proficient and ethically committed. We follow the curriculum mandated by the Dental Council of India and the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, supplemented with additional clinical hours, simulation training and continuing education opportunities to ensure our students are capable on graduation.
