Sports & Recreation — A Campus That Moves

World-Class Sporting Infrastructure

The BGS campus is not just one of the best academic campuses in Bengaluru — it is also one of the best sporting campuses. The BGS & SJB Group of Institutions strongly believes in the holistic development of students, and the sporting infrastructure reflects this commitment in every way.

International Cricket Stadium

A full-scale cricket stadium on the BGS campus — unique among dental and medical college campuses in India. The stadium hosts inter-college and inter-university tournaments and reflects BGS's deep investment in sports culture. Swamiji himself is an avid sports enthusiast and a member of the KSCA.

Swimming Pool

A well-maintained swimming pool available to students and faculty — excellent for fitness, recreation and competitive swimming.

Horse Riding Facility

One of the most distinctive features of the BGS campus — a horse riding arena that adds an extraordinary dimension to campus recreation.

Multi-Purpose Gymnasium (Gym)

A fully equipped multi-purpose gym with 12-station modern equipment, free weights and cardio machines. Open to all students and faculty.

Hockey Ground

A dedicated hockey ground for practice and competitive play.

Located at the back of the campus — available for practice matches, inter-department tournaments and friendly games.

Basketball Court

Located near the hostels — a prime spot for competitive basketball. Multiple inter-collegiate tournaments are hosted here.

Volleyball & Throwball Courts

Located adjacent to the auditorium, in front of the boys' hostel — regularly used for inter-college competitions.

Indoor Badminton Courts (3 Courts)

Three wooden courts in the indoor stadium — the most popular indoor facility on campus. Open to students and staff.

Table Tennis

Available at the sports department and indoor recreation areas.

Carom & Chess

Indoor recreational games available in the common areas.

Open Air Theatre

A dedicated open-air performance and recreation space for cultural events, evening programmes and informal gatherings.

Jogging / Multi-Purpose Track

A multi-purpose track for jogging, walking and outdoor fitness activities.

Annual BGS Sports Meet

Every year, the BGS group hosts the BGS Sports Meet — a major inter-institutional sporting event in which students from all BGS schools and colleges compete across a wide range of sports, from cricket and basketball to athletics and table tennis. Outstanding performers receive cash prizes and awards from Swamiji himself, who is a passionate advocate of athletic achievement.

Auditorium & Event Spaces

The BGS campus has a large auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,500 — one of the most impressive event venues on any campus in South Bengaluru. The auditorium hosts orientation programmes, annual college days, cultural festivals, academic conferences, CDE events and inter-college competitions.

In addition to the main auditorium, there are state-of-the-art conference rooms and seminar halls available for academic seminars, guest lectures, departmental events and student club activities.
