Campus Facilities at BGS GIDS
Dental Clinics & Labs
Each of the nine departments at BGS GIDS has its own fully equipped clinical workspace and laboratory. Clinical areas are furnished with modern dental chairs, advanced handpiece systems, digital imaging equipment and all the instruments required for comprehensive clinical training. Pre-clinical labs with typodont systems, phantom heads and simulation benches allow students to build confidence before they treat real patients.
Lecture Theatres & Classrooms
BGS GIDS has well-designed, air-conditioned lecture theatres with audio-visual systems, projection facilities and sufficient seating to support interactive and engaged learning. Separate seminar rooms and tutorial spaces are also available for small-group sessions and case discussions.
Digital Radiography & Imaging
The radiology facilities include digital OPG (panoramic radiography) units, periapical digital X-ray systems and CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) access — essential for modern diagnostic dentistry and providing students with exposure to current diagnostic tools used in professional practice.
Central Skill Lab
A dedicated skill lab provides students with a structured environment to practise and perfect clinical procedures before entering the main dental clinic. This includes phantom head units, simulation mannequins and a range of procedural training tools.

Your Gateway to Dental and Medical Knowledge
BGS GIDS students have access to the BGS Global Institute of Medical Sciences (BGS GIMS) Central Library — one of the finest medical libraries in South Bengaluru. The library was inaugurated in its new premises on November 24, 2022, with the presence of distinguished dignitaries including the then Chief Minister of Karnataka, and represents a major investment in the academic resources of the BGS campus.
Collection Size
15,000+ books covering medical and dental subjects, authored by leading Indian and international authors.
Periodicals
Annual subscriptions to 145 periodicals covering various medical and dental subjects.
Reading Space
Spacious, well-lit reading rooms spread across 3,200 square metres — one of the largest health sciences library spaces in South Bengaluru.
HELINET Membership
The library holds membership to the Health Science Library and Information Network (HELINET) Consortium of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). HELINET provides access to a vast collection of full-text international e-journals, e-books and dissertations across all health sciences disciplines — including dentistry, medicine, pharmacy and nursing.
Digital Library
A fully equipped digital library with high-speed internet access and e-resources.
E-Resources
Access to databases including PubMed, Medline, Clinical Key, Jaypee Digital, ProQuest and UpToDate through the HELINET consortium.
Separate Reading Sections
Dedicated reading areas for UG students, PG students and faculty — ensuring a focused, disciplined environment for each group.
Library Timings
Extended hours on working days; open on Sundays and holidays (refer to notice board for current timings).
